Early Morning Thoughts

This morning my thoughts are on the Mock convention that we will be having in preparation for the district convention in a week. I have a lot on my mind, I I thought that writing might help me be able to come to terms with a few things.
I will be running to be a national delegate. I am not really sure what the chances of it happening are, but I trust that the Lord's hand will be in it, and the outcome will be in alignment with His will, and that is all that really matters to me, is that we fulfill His purposes.
I wrote a speech, that I may not give, but I thought I should record it here so that it can be read by others.
My Speech
The American's Creed states, "We believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people, whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation, of many sovereign states, a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. We therefore believe it is our duty to our country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws; to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies."
As an America, I too believe this creed, and as a mother I desire it to stand for my children. As a member of the community, I want to see it upheld for all of my neighbors and friends.
It is this desire for family and community that has led me to action. We may know truth, and we may carry it deep within our hearts, but that truth, that love, is meaningless without the action taken to uphold it, to defend it, and to ensure its mantle is passed to the next generation.
Our rights are granted by our Creator, and none else. It is not only a right. It is a responsibility. Where much is given, much is required. We can never become apathetic to the duty to protect our liberty and the liberty of all mankind, or it will be slowly stolen away from us, and we will awaken in a nation that or forefathers could not recognize.
In the words of my ancestor, Abraham Lincoln, "At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. A nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."
It is the inner vessel that must remain pure and sanctified. We must value liberty and the Constitution at our very core. We must live it in our homes in order to uphold it within our nation. We must not just know it, but live it, and continually guard it.
It is for this cause that I am here today, seeking this position of influence. I pledge my life, my wealth and my sacred honor to the Constitution of the United States, and to the Creator who grants us these rights.
